2020 was a year unlike any we have experienced in our lifetime. It affected us on so many levels. It changed how we worked, lived, and interacted with one another. It forced my husband and I to work from home with a toddler. While incredibly challenging, there were was silver linings of spending more time with our 1-year-old and watching him grow up in front of our eyes.
But then came the lay-offs. I saw so many friends and colleagues lose their jobs, while I stayed grateful to still be employed. And then my role was impacted. It was emotional and took time to process. After some time reflect, I chose to shift my perspective and look at this event as a positive. A time to transition to something bigger and better.
If anything, I wanted to ensure this period in my life was defined by personal growth.
But then I looked at the job market. Opportunities were limited, and the job-seeker pool was extremely competitive.
Inspired by a podcast, telling me true growth and change only happens through adversity and transition, I decided to lean in to the uncomfortable. Also inspired by an encouraging nudge from my husband on New Years Eve, the idea for this podcast was born.
I decided to start a podcast to help people, in a similar position to myself, stand out from the sea of competition, improve their skill set, and to stay positive about the next chapter in their life.
Welcome to the Comeback Podcast!
